C5.128 User documentation for CDM print publication service

The document explains the configuration options and is structured as a step-by-step guide with text as well as screenshots of the interface elements. Following this guide, the user is able to produce pre-formatted text from a CDM data store using the EDIT Taxonomic Editor. The steps describe how the user interface may be started, how the connection to a particular print publication service is set up, and the selection of data for output as well as additional configuration options.

C5.127 Prototype of service to generate printed publication from the CDM

The prototype service to generate printed publications from the CDM (Printservice) consists of an interface that lets a user select a classification or specific parts of a classification, a system to harvest the required data from the CDM REST Services (Webservice) and XSL stylesheets to process the acquired data into the Open Document Format (ODF). Being a prototype, the system does not claim to be complete, correct or useful in production use.

C5.87 WP6 exemplar group data migrated to CDM v1

For enabling the EDIT WP6 exemplar groups to use their data within the upcoming EDIT Cybertaxonomy tools based on the Common Data Model (CDM) and the CDM Store the exemplar groups’ data have been transformed from their original format into CDM directly or into a format that is an import format for the CDM.

C5.86 Data portal prototype

Based on the “Data Portal” mock-ups, the Botanic Garden & Botanical Museum Berlin-Dahlem and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew have developed a web application prototype which publishes taxonomic data as stored in a cdm (Common data Model) data store. The Data Portal requests data by connecting to the cdm web services which are an integral component of the cdm library and application suite within the EDIT Platform for Cybertaxonomy.

C5.53 Data portal prototype for exemplar taxonomic groups

A data portal for frequent online publication of taxonomic revisions has been developed in close cooperation with the EDIT WP6 Cichorieae exemplar group. It is also successfully in use to publish the EDIT WP6 Diptera Exemplar group data. The php based system provides a unified insight into the data of projects working on the revision of taxonomic groups. During the design process we focused on a layout which not only adapts the look of according books but also extends it by the means of web technology.
